Resources for Parents

Kids in Care

The Kids in Care program reimburses regulated childcare providers for caring for children while parents engage in formal job search activities. This program is for unemployed parents. Parents need to meet specified financial eligibility requirements based upon federal regulations.

Providers can be reimbursed for up to 150 hours of ‘drop in’ childcare for each Kids in Care family they provide care for. For more information about the Kids in Care Program, please contact Abby at 801-326-4399 or email her at This email address is being protected from spambots. Free Childcare Referrals

Child Care Resource Agency offers free online childcare referrals to all Utah families. In addition to searching for care by location, cost and type, you can search based on a program’s licensing record and their Child Care Quality System (CCQS) rating. CCQS ratings help you make informed choices and find high quality-rated care near you.

So how do programs receive a CCQS rating? Evaluators visit childcare providers and review their program based on health and safety, learning environment, interactions, and more. This process also includes verification of staff professional development, the program’s family engagement efforts and best practices.
