Carissa and Alex
Hi! We're Carissa and Alex. Thank you for taking the time to learn about our family.
We met as best friends in college and married after finding each other again in Taiwan. Our days are full of cute dramas, funny animal pictures, and a shared love of dance, languages, and learning. Between Carissa's years teaching grade school and Alex's lifelong care for sister with special needs, we're ready to welcome a child into a home full of patience, love, and family stretching from Utah to Taiwan.

- Our Story
We met at Ensign College, back when it was LDS Business College.
In college we were best friends but after graduating and meeting again in Taiwan we decided to get married.
Now we spend our days working, talking about the future, watching cute dramas and looking at funny pictures of animals together.
We hope to find a child we can share our love with.
We will provide them with a healthy and safe place to grow.
- Carissa
I spent most of my life in Taiwan but I feel like my life really started when I came to Utah for school over ten years ago.
I love Utah because of how clean and natural everything is and because the people here are so friendly. I have made so many friends and hope I can see more of Utah.
I love Chinese and Latin dance. Alex and I first held hands practicing bachata at a school event.
I practice all sorts of crafts, especially perfume, and I spend a lot of time learning about Chinese herbs and natural remedies.
I am excited to teach my children practical skills and help them to be confident.
- Carissa According to Alex
I started dating Carissa because of her smile and because she was so much fun.
I fell in love with her when I saw her caring and child-like heart.
I married her because I knew should would be a good mother and the perfect wife.
She has wisdom beyond years but still talks to animals and babies.
She is obsessed with beauty but sensitive to what is in someone's heart.
- Alex
I was born in American Fork and I have spent much of my time between California and Utah. I spent two years in South Korea as a missionary and taught English in Taiwan so I love spending time abroad.
I am obsessed with languages and speak Korean, Spanish and Mandarin but Carissa says I am still not fluent in Mandarin.
I love to read, cook and drive.
I am excited to read One Fish, Blue Fish, to my children, cook them homemade pizza and take them on adventures.
- Alex According to Carissa
Alex has a kind heart that is willing to help people around him.
He is sweet to children and the elderly and is loved by people who have a hard time finding acceptance.
He loves to make people laugh and brings joy to everyone.
He cares for each of his family members and always makes time for them.
- Carissa’s Strengths
Carissa has years of experience teaching grade school children.
During those years she has learned that children need love and patience.
She plans to spend time playing with and teaching your child.
She wants to help her children learn about their feelings so that they grow up to be happy, kind and responsible.
- Alex’s Strengths
Alex has cared for his special needs sister, Sophia, for most of her life.
Sophia is much like an infant still and this has helped Alex to understand what care little ones need.
Alex also taught grade school children in Taiwan and understands that while little ones love to play they also like to have structure.
He believes that love will let happy children will grow up to be happy adults.
He has also focused his career and finances around always being able to provide for the people God has put in his care.
- Our Family
We live only with each other in Salt Lake City but have family across the world we hope can be a part of our child's life.
Our child will be loved by aunts and uncles in Utah, California and Taiwan. They will be spoiled by two sets of grandparents that live for their grandbabies.
In our family the children have support and love from all directions. Every one of us belong.
