Advocacy

AdvocacyParents as Teachers National Center advocates for policies that support parents with young children. We help national, state and local decision-makers understand the important role parent education and family support play in a child's development.

Advocacy is an essential part of building viable, sustainable and successful Parents as Teachers programs. It also helps build strong communities that better support the families and children that we serve.

As a parent, teacher or friend, you have probably tried to influence someone on behalf of another. Advocacy is that simple. It's about:

  • building relationships with local, state and national decision makers
  • educating decision makers about Parents as Teachers and other related early childhood and family support issues
  • connecting to your community - all politics truly are local
  • being a positive voice for families with young children

Learn more about how you can help. Visit Parents as Teacher Advocacy Center for the tools, contacts and public policy updates you'll need to support our vision that all children will learn, grow and develop to realize their full potential.
