SHERI AND ERICA

We are so honored that you have taken the time to consider us as potential adoptive parents for your child. We love our life together and are so excited to add a child to our family. We promise to love your child unconditionally and provide him or her with a happy, fun, and love-filled life.

About Us

We met working at a bookstore, and felt an instant connection. Though we were both a little shy at first, it wasn’t long before we realized how much we shared – interests, values, love of family, and a desire to find the good in life. After dating for a few months, we moved in together, and the rest is history! We got married in 2014, on our 10th anniversary, at a beautiful Rose Garden in Tacoma, WA.

We both love all kinds of music, and we often go to live concerts and performances, and sometimes plan summer travel around seeing favorite bands. We also love sports, and are season ticket holders at Real Salt Lake. We are always looking to add adventure to our lives, whether that is through discovering a new favorite hiking trail with our dog Mia, going on camping trips in the summer, or traveling to new places.
In addition to spending time with both our families, we have several close friends we spend time with. Our best friends have two young children who will be a little like an older brother and sister for our child. We also have a dog (Mia), a cat (Kennedy) and two fire-belly toads (Spike and Sarge).

Erica

Erica grew up in Logan and St George. Her parents adopted her little brother, Chase, when she was 9, and they have always been very close. Chase still lives in St. George, as does Erica’s Mom, and we make frequent trips there to visit them. Erica’s dad lives in Logan and we see him often, for skiing, concerts, or just hanging out and eating good food. Erica is a great cook and loves experimenting with new recipes. Erica is a retail manager and is really good at encouraging and motivating her staff.

Sheri

Sheri grew up in Logan and Salt Lake, the youngest of four sisters. She was 8 when she became an aunt and has long prided herself on being the favorite aunt for her 3 nephews and 7 nieces (and multiple great-nephews and nieces now!) We live nearby Sheri’s large and growing family and see them often. Sheri works in marketing for a performing arts center and loves encouraging people to experience live performances.

Our home life and traditions

We live in a cozy brick rambler home near downtown Salt Lake City. One of the things we love about living in SLC is having the benefits of a city – arts, entertainment, restaurants, live music – while still being so close to the mountains and nature. Though we love to travel, we also often do “stay-cations” and explore new parts of the city or the mountains. We even nicked-named our home the Rambler Inn!

We love holidays, especially Halloween and Christmas, and we have a TON of Halloween and Christmas decorations (along with a few for Easter, St Patrick’s, and Thanksgiving too). Our tradition at Halloween is to dress up, buy a lot of candy, and give out treats to neighbor kids. We love living in a neighborhood where kids still go trick-or-treating! We usually buy 2 or 3 books (Scooby-Doo is always a favorite) to give out during the night as well. At Christmas, we generally have several weeks of celebrating as we fit in all our family and friends for parties and get-togethers. We always “adopt” 2 Angel Tree kids, whose families can’t afford many gifts, and have a lot of fun picking out gifts we think will make their Christmas special. We love the idea of introducing our child to the many ways we can help people in our communities and the importance of giving back because our lives are so blessed.

Our hobbies and interests

Music is very important in our lives and we attend concerts and live performances quite often. We would encourage our child to take music lessons on whatever instrument they think looks fun.

We also love sports and being active, and Erica can’t wait for the chance to coach our child’s soccer team! We have season tickets to Real Salt Lake, and we follow a lot of other sports teams, including the Seattle Reign, a women’s soccer team in Seattle.

We camp a few times every summer and love to get into the mountains with our dog. We both love being outdoors, even if it’s just in our backyard.

We are so excited to welcome a child into our home! Our lives are full of love and laughter, and we thank you for considering us as adoptive parents for your child!
