Hi there!

It’s funny how life seems to take you down a different path than what you had initially planned.  But once you’re on that path, it’s exactly where you need to be and greater than you could have ever imagined.  This is exactly how we feel about the path we have taken to start a family!  We also know that whatever events and emotions have brought you here, we first want to thank you.  Thank you for taking the time to learn about us!

Us

We are a fun-loving, loyal, hard-working and faith centered couple who love to have a good time attending different sporting events, theater performances and family get togethers.  Both of us have close family connections and believe deeply in spending time together as often as possible.  Through years of infertility, doctor appointments and a miscarriage we know that we had to endure it all to be able to be here, ready to adopt and start our journey as parents!

Ashley with our niece, Maggie

Every day I pinch myself because I can’t believe that I am lucky enough to be married to this beautiful woman, who is obviously out of my league!

From the first day I met her, I immediately noticed her enthusiasm for life and her capacity to love. She has a huge heart and it’s evident by how she lives her life. She is the first to make friends with a stranger or show compassion and empathy to someone struggling. Ash is a natural caretaker and is often referred to as “Prepared Patty” when we vacation. She always has everything we need!

Ash has a strong spirit. She holds tight to her faith and trusts in the plan laid out for us. When heartbreak or trials try to block that path, Ash endures quietly and faithfully. I am in awe of her positivity and courage.

I love Ash as a wife, and I’m ecstatic to watch Ash as a mommy! I catch glimpses of it as I watch her interact and play with our nephew and nieces. She loves them so deeply and they all love her. It makes me smile to hear our niece yell “Ashie!” then run to her for a hug and kiss. I know that Ash will be the best mother!

Simply put… Ash loves to love!

Jared (By Ashley)

Jared is my best friend, biggest supporter and the love of my life!  If I had been able to sit down and custom make the perfect partner for me, Jared would be it down to the last detail.  He is the kindest and most romantic husband and loves to surprise me often with flowers or a thoughtful gift ‘just because’.  He often seems to know exactly what I need before I even need it which is just the kind of man he is.  Thoughtful, attentive and loving – Jared exudes these qualities in everything he puts his mind to.

He serves in our church as a spiritual leader and through this calling I have been able to see his heart ache for families going through trials and see his joy for those celebrating personal achievements and milestones.  Jare is a man of spiritual strength and gives the best advice when called upon.  He jumps at an opportunity to serve and is able to do so with a smile on his face and true compassion for those he serves.

We love to laugh and look for humor in life together.  No one can get me to belly laugh with happy tears streaming down my face more than Jare can.  I often look at him with awe and can’t believe I am as blessed as I am with him by my side!

Jare is going to be the best daddy!  I can already see qualities in him that make my heart melt like when I see him love on our nieces and nephew and see how they can’t get enough of him.  He is a wonderful person, son, brother, husband and I know he’s going to be an amazing father!

Our Story

We met in 2012 and it was love at first sight… For one of us.  Jared knew right away that he’d marry me and even told his parents the night of our first date.  I took a little more convincing but once I fell, I fell hard.  We lived about an hour apart from each other and throughout our year of dating spent a lot of time driving back and forth to see each other.  We knew early on that our relationship was different than we’d ever experienced and that the love and respect we had for each other was rare and special.

We were married on June 1, 2013 in the Salt Lake Temple.  It was the most beautiful, sunny day and we were so happy to share it with family and friends from near and far.

A year later, we built our home in Stansbury Park.  Jared grew up in a small farming community and was drawn to our neighborhood for it’s small town feel.  It also appealed to me since I grew up in a tight knit community in Kansas.  We have absolutely loved building forever friendships with our neighbors and appreciate the feeling of togetherness our neighborhood has.

Our Families

Ashley:

I grew up in Wichita, Kansas with my mom, stepdad, 2 brothers and sister.  I visited my dad out of state several times a year and we spoke weekly over the phone.  Through the years our family has now grown to include Jared, my brother’s spouse and two daughters and my sister’s spouse and one daughter.  There is never a dull moment at our family get togethers as we play card games, board games and any other kind of games.  We love to spend time around the table laughing and connecting.

Jared:

I grew up in Vernon, Utah – a small farming community of about 200 people—with my parents and sister. We enjoyed the small-town life that taught us values of hard work and integrity. I was fortunate to have my grandparents right across the street and other extended family close by. Today, my parents still live in the house I grew up in, and my sister and her husband have three children. We still get together often and enjoy eating, laughing, and talking.

We’d like to again thank you for taking the time to get to know us and our story.  We are so excited to be on this path and are ready to grow our family through adoption!  We can’t begin to explain the gratitude we have in our hearts for your consideration. We hope we were able to convey the love we have for each other and our sincere desire to become parents.  We are thrilled to share this journey with you!

With all of our love,

Jared and Ashley
